COMMENT

Go for your dreams - who knows, they just might happen
Is your life boring and humdrum? Do you feel like you’ve got no future or are stuck in a rut?
If so, take heart from Mirriam Jaulani’s amazing story. Just a couple of month’s ago she was just like many of her sisters – staying at home, doing household chores and hoping to find a job.
But Mirriam had big dreams – and now she’s catapulted to stardom as the winner of the Zambian heat of the Nokia Face of Africa contest. And we’re all holding our breath and hoping she’ll get chosen for the semi-finals ... then she’s in with a real chance of winning the continent-wide title.
And they say good things come in threes. After the success of our home-grown superstars Lindiwe Alamu and Cherise Makubale, wouldn’t it be wonderful for Mirriam to capture another accolade for Zambia?
Let’s support Mirriam all we can, and also take a leaf out of her book. If nothing else, she proves that we can all achieve something, no matter how distant your goal may seem.
It doesn’t have to be anything as big as winning a major beauty title. Life is full of goals and challenges and everyone has different aspirations.
Maybe your aim is to get into college or find a good job. Perhaps your greatest wish is to find a good husband or build a nice home. It doesn’t matter; what’s important is that you never give up hope that some day you’ll get there.
Or as the 1950s Sound of Music song goes:
Climb ev’ry mountain, ford ev’ry stream. Follow ev’ry rainbow, till you find your dream.

Good luck in all your endeavours.

Thumbs up for our lovely magazine. Proves that we can also do it. Just a few questions and suggestions. Do you take contributions from readers? Do you carry stories on male celebrities as well? How about a fiction column and poetry corner? - Why do I ask? - Well I am a writer and I do have some story ideas I would wish to contribute. Pliz advise and keep up the good good.
Regards, Leonard.
