COMMENT
01/09/2006
Indeed planning features heavily in this quarter’s issue of The Zambian Marketer. Our workshop on strategic planning formed a cornerstone of the institute’s most recent events, eliciting good attendance and a superb line-up of speakers.
The institute has also been busy planning its own future, with a strategic plan that will be unveiled at the annual conference in November. That is an event not to be missed. We welcome your nominations for award winners in the various categories, which will be announced at the glamorous awards ball after the conference.
Back to the subject of planning, institute representatives have also been hard at work spearheading members’ interests on the national Buy Zambian campaign. Progress is advancing apace and we are hopeful that the initiative will spark a renewed sense of national pride among consumers in the country’s wealth of products and services
Nowhere is this more important than among the younger generation, and so it is with particular pride that we introduce a students’ corner section in the magazine, designed to showcase the work of tomorrow’s marketing professionals.
Today’s marketing professionals, meanwhile, were busy with another important highlight of the calendar with the 80th Lusaka Agricultural and Commercial Show. Our photo gallery gives a taste of the atmosphere of the event, and demonstrates just how proactive institute members are at harnessing the tremendous potential of the event to reach out to customers.
We look forward to seeing you all at the annual conference and awards.
All the Best,
James Chiwala
