After
completing her secondary education, her life was a bit chaotic, but all
the tough things in life make you stronger, she says.
She was not sure what she wanted to do career-wise, so her search
began with a short course on sewing knit by a lady called Mrs Jacobs. The
course was called “Tunga Mushe”. Initially
the course seemed boring to her so she left midway, unsure of whether she
was training for the right career. The break did some good because she
realised that this was what she am supposed to do. Creatively,
Coretta loves the idea of being near a large river that has no traffic or
too many people. “I feel for
me to be inspired it usually has to go with the theme of the occasion. The
type of fabric I use also puts the picture into perspective according to
the theme. So I always put a theme together before I begin the whole
design process. I make sure the colour goes accordingly as well. My
favorite clothes to design are evening wear,” she says. Starting
to sew with knit made her always use it in most of her shows. “To design
or create I love to make a woman look good, bringing out her best
qualities with the choice of design we both discuss on.”
