CFAO celebrates its new future

LUSAKA, ZAMBIA – Zambia’s movers and shakers turned out last night to celebrate the rebrand of CFAO Motors Zambia Ltd – the company behind distribution of customer-centric and affordable vehicles and services including Toyota and Hino, as well as Automark pre-owned vehicles.

In celebration of its latest milestone, the Minister of Commerce and Trade Hon. Chipoka Mulenga, Japanese Ambassador Ryuta Mizuuchi and CFAO Motors Zambia Chief Executive Officer Dino Bianchi marked the company’s new future by unveiling the CFAO logo at the event.

“This is more than a name change, this is a milestone that brings us closer to our ambition of sustainable growth, value chain integration, partnership with strong brands and innovation and consolidating our position as a leading automotive brand in Zambia,” said Mr Bianchi in his speech at the cocktail party.

“We look forward to furthering business opportunities under the CFAO name while holding the history and legacy of Toyota in Zambia,” he stated.

Mr Mulenga urged motorists to drive safely and said: “The Toyota brand has been Zambia’s go to vehicle for many reasons, the purchase price, cost of maintenance and user friendliness for our roads and the type of lifestyle for most of our people.

“I believe that CFAO will make this rebranding of Toyota a great opportunity for enhancing business choices and costs for local businesses.”

“We look forward to seeing affordability, in the vehicles you bring on our market and diversified services and products in the automotive industry,” stated Mr Mulenga.

The event celebrated the official rebrand to CFAO, but also provided the opportunity for customers and partners to hear about its ambition for the future of the automotive industry in assessing a range of affordable products and services that will proactively contribute to the nation’s economic growth.

Mr Mizuuchi said: “This rebranding reflects the evolution of Toyota following the takeover of CFAO by Toyota Tsusho Corporation. The globalization has driven Toyota to a stage where it is expanding more aggressively on the African continent.

The change of the company name does not change its substance and much less the identity of Toyota. I am confident that the future of CFAO is promising.”

At the event, attendees also had the opportunity to view three new stylish affordable family centric city cars: the Starlet, the five-seat Toyota Belta and seven-seat Toyota Rumion.

CFAO plans to transform the local automotive industry, continuing the Toyota Zambia tradition of offering affordable automobile products and services and creating new jobs as it continues to grow.

As the official company distributor and dealer for Zambia’s leading automotive brands, CFAO is set to change the face of the automotive industry. Already, through its branches in Lusaka, Kitwe, Livingstone and Solwezi, as well as authorized service centres in Kabwe, Chipata, Mkushi and Kasama, the group is providing genuine parts and quality aftersales service across Zambia.

CFAO Motors Zambia – the new name for Toyota Zambia – is part of the largest automotive distribution network in Africa – Corporation for Africa & Overseas (CFAO), which is an established player in the automotive industry that imports, sells, leases and maintain vehicles and capital goods for leading international brands. The CFAO Group is part of Toyota Tsusho Corporation.
