CFAO Motors unveils new sponsorship for rising sports stars

LUSAKA, ZAMBIA – Aspiring young athletes from across the country will have the chance to become the stars of the future thanks to the renewed commitment of CFAO Motors Zambia to support sports at grassroots.

Sport in Zambia has steered young people away from vices and acted as an important aspect in shaping a positive community, especially among the youth, said the company as it unveiled its new sponsorship to the renamed Toyota Sports Centre in Longacres, Lusaka this week.

Toyota distributor and dealer CFAO Motors has been a proud partner to the sports complex – formerly known as the Futsal & Sports Complex in Longacres for three years and is committed to continue for the next coming years.

As part of building a closer relationship, CFAO Motors handed over a 30-seater Coaster bus and a Hilux pick-up to the sports centre as part of its support to football development through provision of vehicles as a way of mitigating mobility challenges.

“Toyota has been a proud sponsor of the sports centre and our contribution of a 30-seater Coaster bus and a Hilux to the Toyota Sports Centre highlights our ambition to our intended goal to nurture and develop sporting talents of young people in Lusaka and the country at large,” explained CFAO Motors Zambia Chief Operating Officer Nenad Predrevac.

The renewal of the sponsorship is centred on the drive to identify and nurture children with exceptional skills, and knowledge in various sport activities like football which is a treasured sport in the country. And the vehicles will help coaches scout the country for the next rising stars.

“We hope that these vehicles and sports facility will provide everything necessary for the nation’s rising stars to have a better chance at doing something they love and at the same time lead the players in a direction set for all that they could achieve,” he added.

And CEO of Toyota Sports Center Mr Mauro Sanna expressed his gratitude towards CFAO Motor’s contribution to the sports centre; “It is a great honor and privilege to partner with one of the biggest companies not only in the country but in the world at large, and we are all grateful and thankful for the support provided by Toyota including the Coaster bus and the Toyota Hilux. This generous support from Toyota has greatly assisted us to safely transport the players for their training sessions and league games around Zambia.”

Mr Sanna furher stated he is pleased to announce the renaming of the sports facility to Toyota Sports Centre and hoped for a continued good relation with Toyota.

The Toyota Sports Centre is a unique sports centre that promotes recreational sports with a variety of sports sections from football, volleyball, tennis paddle, beach volleyball, beach soccer to having one of the biggest swimming pools in Lusaka structured for training young talent. Toyota is committed to improve quality skilled young talent through Futsal.

Mr Predrevac urged everyone to think of Toyota Sports Centre as a school of life that will enrich young people through sport; carrying on a strong initiative that includes the promotion of positive values such as respect, effort, ambition, teamwork, hard work and humility.
