BANKERS SALUTE ZAMBEEF CEO

Zambeef Products PLC Chief Executive Officer, Faith Mukutu.

Zambeef chief Faith Mukutu hopes to see more women pursue management roles as two top financial institutions pay tribute to her work

LUSAKA, ZAMBIA – Zambeef Products PLC Chief Executive Officer Faith Mukutu is encouraging more women to pursue leadership roles in their respective industries.

Ms Mukutu noted this when she received recognition from two of Zambia’s top banks; having been conferred with the ABSA Women in Business 2023 CEO Award and honoured at ZANACO’s Zee Women’s Banking Awards with the Zee CEO of the Year Award.

Speaking on both awards, she said: “It is important to celebrate and acknowledge the accomplishments of women, as it inspires others to overcome their own barriers and strive for success. Their hard work and determination serve as a reminder that gender should not limit one’s potential in any field.”

The awards come on the back of Ms Mukutu making it into Forbes magazine’s Power Rising: These Are the Women to Watch in 2023 for her leadership and business acumen.

She further noted that positions of leadership were no easy task and required discipline and perseverance as well as belief in one’s vision.
“Zambeef has maintained its position on the market and produced positive results in spite of the difficulties the company has faced – including the COVID-19 pandemic, CBPP and economic uncertainty – thanks to the company’s resilience. As CEO, I am honoured to be supported by a group of people who believe in the vision of ‘feeding the nation’, and whose enduring and unwavering commitment to operational effectiveness has enabled us to scale ‘mountains’,” said Ms Mukutu.

Following her appointment, she has seen the approval of the USD $ 100 million capacity expansion program of the company’s operations and diversification of the product range. Most recently, the company has also contributed to various efforts, including providing relief food to flood victims in Southern Province’s Bweengwa and Namwala districts, as well as water points for the Chiawa community in Kafue district.
She explained: “Our success as a company is determined not only by our financial performance but also by the positive impact, we have both on our staff and the communities in which we do business.”
