PROFLIGHT ZAMBIA ACHIEVES IOSA REGISTRATION, MEETING IATA GLOBAL SAFETY STANDARDS
IATA IOSA registration milestone reinforces the airline’s commitment to safety, reliability and efficiency
LUSAKA, ZAMBIA – Proflight Zambia has successfully completed the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Operational Safety Audit (IOSA), a rigorous, globally recognised audit conducted every two years. Following the audit, the airline has been listed on the IATA IOSA Registry, and now officially Zambia’s only IOSA-registered airline.
This milestone marks a significant step in Proflight Zambia’s long-standing commitment to operational safety and the delivery of world-class standards. The achievement is the result of sustained investment over several years in staff training, systems, and compliance with international aviation safety standards.

Being registered on the IOSA Registry validates our safety management systems and further strengthens our standing as a trusted airline in the region.”
Recognised globally as the gold standard for airline operational safety, the IOSA program is a comprehensive evaluation of an airline’s operational management and control systems. Registration on the IOSA Registry confirms that Proflight Zambia conforms to IATA’s IOSA Standards and Recommended Practices (ISARPs) and aligns its operations with internationally accepted safety and regulatory frameworks.
IOSA-registered airlines consistently demonstrate stronger safety performance than non-IOSA operators. Industry data shows that airlines listed on the IOSA Registry record lower all-accident rates, demonstrating the effectiveness of the IOSA framework in enhancing operational safety.
“Completing the IOSA audit and achieving IOSA registration is more than meeting international safety standards—it enhances market credibility, supports operational excellence, and reinforces passenger confidence,” Mr Silavwe added.
With IOSA registration secured, Proflight Zambia is well positioned to further strengthen its leadership in aviation safety while continuing to deliver safe, reliable, and efficient world-class services to passengers across Zambia and the region. This opportunity also allows the airline to expand interline partnerships and code share agreements with global carriers promoting connectivity to, from and within Zambia.
