Emirates celebrates Zimbabwe Travel Agents

Harare, Zimbabwe, 4 February 2026 — Emirates, the world’s largest international airline, has recognized the crucial role of local travel agents in driving stronger tourism and travel links between Zimbabwe, Dubai and beyond.  The airline, which operates daily flights from Harare and Lusaka to Dubai, honoured several top-performing travel agents, including Blueberry, Satguru, and Traverze, at a recent ceremony held in Harare.

Emirates Country Manager for Zimbabwe, Omar Bushlaibi, highlighted the importance of travel trade partners, stating: “Our travel trade partners are an essential part of the Emirates Airline success story and are a strategic part of our business in delivering value to our customers. Aviation and air travel continue to impact our lives in the most profound and positive ways, whether for work, connecting with family, or experiencing new cultures and landscapes.”

As a significant contributor to Zimbabwe’s economy, Emirates has been instrumental in driving tourist arrivals, foreign exchange earnings, employment generation, horticultural exports, and business and investment connections. Since the start of operations to Zimbabwe in 2012, Emirates has carried in excess of 1.1 million passengers between Dubai and Harare and operated 9,078 flights between Lusaka and Harare, demonstrating the airline’s significant presence and commitment in the markets. In terms of inbound traffic, Harare, Dubai, London Heathrow, London Gatwick, London Stansted, Birmingham, Manchester, and Beijing are the top destinations for travellers arriving in Harare. Conversely, the top outbound destinations from Harare include Dubai, Lusaka, London Heathrow, Guangzhou, Mumbai, Beijing, Birmingham, and Geneva.

“Looking at the year ahead, we are excited to expand our global network and deploy more aircraft with our latest cabins, to our customers with even more travel options,” said Mr Bushlaibi. “Our new route to Helsinki, Finland, is scheduled to launch in October 2026. With this new route, we will be able to offer our customers a seamless travel experience to one of Europe’s most beautiful and vibrant cities, and we are confident that it will be a popular destination for both business and leisure travellers.”

Mr Bushlaibi highlighted Emirates’ unique selling points as a full-service airline, including innovative services such as remote check-in options and Emirates Skywards, generous baggage allowances, free onboard WiFi connectivity, and a wide selection of culinary offerings onboard and across its lounges. The airline prides itself on being customer-centric, with award-winning comfort and service delivered by friendly cabin crew representing over 160 nationalities.
