PROFLIGHT ZAMBIA BOOSTS REGIONAL TOURISM WITH NEW ROUTE TO BOTSWANA

LUSAKA, ZAMBIA – Proflight Zambia, the country’s leading scheduled airline, is expanding its regional network with the launch of a new Lusaka–Livingstone–Maun route in May 2026. This seasonal service will link the iconic Victoria Falls – which borders Zambia and Zimbabwe, and the surrounding tourism hubs of Livingstone and Victoria Falls Town with Botswana’s Maun; gateway to the world-renowned Okavango Delta, one of Africa’s most spectacular safari destinations.

The new route will operate three times weekly between 1 May and 31 October 2026, using the 29-seater Jetstream 41 aircraft, as follows:

Days: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday

  • Lusaka- Maun (via Livingstone): 09:10-12:00
  • Livingstone – Maun (Direct): 11:05-12:00
  • Maun-Lusaka (via Livingstone): 12:35-15:25
  • Maun-Livingstone (Direct): 12:35-13:30

Passengers travelling between Lusaka and Maun will clear immigration at Livingstone Airport, ensuring a seamless cross-border travel experience.

The service will also facilitate onward connections from Lusaka to other top Zambian destinations, including South Luangwa (Mfuwe) and Lower Zambezi (Jeki and Royal); reducing travel time between the iconic safari regions of the Okavango Delta, South Luangwa, and the Lower Zambezi to just around 4–5 hours by air. Previously, travellers faced limited options, relying on costly private charters, navigating complex land border crossings, or long routings through Johannesburg. This new connectivity is a game-changer for the safari market, offering a seamless, time-efficient link that allows visitors to experience the best of both Zambia and Botswana with ease.

“This new route reflects Proflight Zambia’s commitment to strengthening regional tourism and connectivity. By linking Zambia and Botswana’s premier tourism destinations, we are opening doors for travellers and contributing towards the sustainability of local economies,” said Proflight Zambia Director of Flight Operations Captain Josias Walubita.

Proflight Zambia continues to position itself as a strategic partner in regional development, offering safe, reliable, and efficient air services while supporting the growth of Southern Africa’s trade and tourism sectors.

“Through this expansion, we are not just connecting destinations we are connecting people, parks and wildlife sanctuaries, experiences, and economic opportunities,” Captain Walubita added.
