LUSAKA, ZAMBIA – Proflight Zambia hosted top travel agents to celebrate their partnerships and discuss the future of aviation in Zambia and the region.

Travel agents from Lusaka and Ndola were recently engaged by Proflight Zambia for a structured product presentation, networking session, and awards ceremony recognising top-performing partners. The gatherings equally served as a celebratory moment following the successful launch of Proflight Zambia’s Windhoek route, which is a milestone that strengthens regional connectivity between Zambia and Namibia.

For Proflight Zambia, the engagement events held in Lusaka and in the Copperbelt were an opportunity to reaffirm the airline’s long-standing relationship with the travel partners who play a crucial role in connecting travellers to destinations across Zambia and the region.

Speaking during the event in Lusaka, Proflight Zambia’s Director of Flight Operations, Captain Josias Walubita, emphasised how central travel agents remain to the growth of the aviation sector.

“Zambia’s aviation industry has evolved significantly over the years, and travel agents have been instrumental in that journey,” said Capt. Walubita. “They are far more than distribution partners. They are trusted advisors to travellers, ambassadors for destinations, and an essential part of delivering a seamless passenger experience.”

Capt. Walubita noted that Proflight Zambia’s operations are anchored on four core pillars: safety, reliability, efficiency, and friendly service. These principles also guide the regional airline’s relationship with the travel sector and stakeholders.

“Operational excellence is not achieved by the airline alone,” he added. “It is the result of strong partnerships across the entire travel ecosystem. Our travel agents help ensure passengers receive accurate information, personalised support, and a smooth journey from booking to arrival.”

This year’s event recognised the travel agents who have played a leading role in supporting Proflight Zambia’s growth. Certificates were awarded to 25 travel agents in recognition of their outstanding performance, reflecting the collective contribution of partners across the country.

For the travel agents, the recognition highlighted a long-standing partnership with the airline and confidence in its continued expansion.

“Proflight Zambia has grown remarkably over the years, not only in its route network but also in the reliability and quality of service it offers travellers,” said one of the attending agents. “As travel agents, we have seen firsthand how the airline continues to strengthen connectivity within Zambia and across the region. That growth makes it easier for us to confidently recommend Proflight Zambia to our clients.”

With increasing regional connectivity and a growing focus on domestic travel, airlines and travel agents alike are playing a vital role in shaping the country’s tourism and business mobility landscape.

As the aviation sector continues to evolve, one message from the engagement remained clear: while aircraft may carry passengers through the skies, it is the partnerships on the ground between airlines and travel agents that help make those journeys possible.
